Founded by FairWinds Partners Co-Founders and Managing Partners Josh Bourne and Phil Lodico, and several corporate leaders, The Coalition Against Domain Name Abuse (CADNA) is a 501(c)(6) non-profit association dedicated to ending the systemic domain name abuses that plague the Internet today.
CADNA was formed in response to the growing international problem of cybersquatting, which is the bad-faith registration of a domain name that includes or is confusingly similar to the trademark of another. Collectively, these types of infringement cost organizations billions of dollars in lost or misdirected revenue, in addition to mounting legal costs in defense of their own domains. User experience and wellbeing can also be compromised due to cybersquatting. CADNA is dedicated to decreasing the occurrences of cybersquatting and fostering a safe and stable environment for the Internet.
Through the efforts of its members, which include leading-edge adopters and builders of the Internet’s best practices, CADNA facilitates dialogue and spurs action by policymakers to address gaps in both the law and ICANN policies that enable domain name abuse and consumer fraud.
