Katie Kendal Richards
Director, Credit Suisse

Katie Kendal Richards has been with Credit Suisse since August 2000, and is currently Director responsible for Innovation and Implementation in Global Research. Miss Richards has served a number of roles across bank divisions as Head of Web Identity and Usability at CS Group, Business Risk Manager for CS Financial Services and as a Senior Investment Manager within CS Private Bank. She is also a certified financial risk manager by the Global Association of Risk Practioners (GARP) and a certified Lean Sigma Black Belt for Operational Excellence. Previously, Miss Richards worked in derivatives sales for Salomon Brothers in New York, London and Zurich prior to being a financial risk management consultant for IBM Switzerland. Miss Richards has a Masters of Philosophy in International Relations from King’s College in Cambridge, United Kingdom and a Masters of Science in Shipping, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School in London. She completed her Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and her Diploma of Collegial Studies at John Abbott College, both in Montreal, Canada.

Naotaka Matsukata
Senior Policy Advisor, Alston + Bird

At Alston + Bird, Naotaka Matsukata advises multinational corporate and international public-sector clients on global trade, investment and regulatory issues in Asia and Europe. He also develops strategies addressing the complex regulatory and political challenges faced by global organizations. Previously, Dr. Matsukata was director of policy planning for U.S. Trade Representative Robert B. Zoellick and served as advisor to the USTR, where he currently serves as a member of the private-sector Trade and Environmental Policy Advisory Committee. From 1995 to 2000, he served as senior policy advisor to United States Senator Joseph I. Lieberman. Dr. Matsukata has a B.F.A. from New York University, and a Masters and Ph.D in Japanese history from Harvard University, where he also served on the faculty. He is currently an adjunct professor of Japanese history at SAIS, the School for Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
