Steve, an attorney with over 23 years of experience practicing law, manages FairWinds’ Domain Name Reclaim Services. He provides clients with a cost effective and reliable means of prioritizing infringing domain names and then recovering them, which helps to protect the clients’ reputation and drive traffic to their legitimate websites. FairWinds’ resident enforcer, Steve has long history of success when it comes to reclaiming domain names, which includes over 100 UDRP victories on behalf of FairWinds’ clients.

Prior to joining FairWinds, Steve was a Senior Director at The Home Depot’s Legal Department for ten years, where he managed the company’s global trademark, domain name, patent, copyright, and other intellectual property holdings. Before his tenure at The Home Depot, Steve was a Senior Associate at the New York office of Proskauer Rose LLP; Trademark Counsel at Sony Corporation in Tokyo, Japan; and an Associate at Amster Rothstein & Ebenstein in New York. This wealth of experience has given Steve the tools to manage the assets and exposures of both large multinational corporations and small businesses alike. Steve is a 1989 graduate of Brooklyn Law School and currently resides in Philadelphia, PA.

When he takes breaks from tracking down cybersquatters, Steve enjoys bicycle touring, playing the keyboard and the guitar, and socializing with friends and family.

Fun Facts

  • Legal expertise wasn’t all Steve picked up while working for The Home Depot: he also learned enough skills to completely renovate his living room and wet bar. He plans to tackle his kitchen and bathrooms next.
  • Steve likes to sing karaoke and can lay down a mean cover of “Walking in Memphis.”
  • Steve’s dad was a technician on the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite, and later Dan Rather. His grandfather was a sound tech for The Ed Sullivan Show and a cameraman for Captain Kangaroo.
